thank you all for your sponsorship
------Pre race overview----
I am training hard for the 2011 London Marathon and hope to raise money for the Children's Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF) - my goal is to reach the sponsorship target of £2,000 for this special charity.
I'm running for one of my best friends (Anne) who received her daughter Georgina's diagnosis 29 years ago when the family was living in Holland. I have always felt sorry that I was not around to offer support at what must have been a very traumatic time. Now I have the opportunity to help the Children's Liver Disease Foundation which has supported so many families.
Georgina ran the London Marathon last year and it was then, in 2010, at the post marathon "tea", that I met some of the CLDF children and parents.

The fact that Georgina had grown into a fine young woman was encouraging enough, but that she was also fit enough to run the gruelling race alongside CLDF parents was a very special moment for many people there and I am certain brought comfort to the parents of recently diagnosed children.

I am hoping that my friends and contacts will donate generously to CLDF - please click this link http://www.childliverdisease.org/ to find out more about its work.
It's my "Big Birthday" next year and although decrepitude hasn't taken hold and the joints are holding out allowing me to pound the streets and press an inordinate amount of weights, your donation will be for the training/marathon so if the body breaks down because of my trainer Massimo Antinoro's exhausting regime (and 'near pensioner' torture), your money will still go to the charity. My training diary can be found on my Training Blog
PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY SO I DON'T HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR!
